Dear Loyal Subscribers to TheatreEddys.com:
After posting 70+ reviews between mid-January and mid-July, you may have noticed that I have been noticeably absent since (except for one post of the 40+ shows my hubby Hernán and I saw at the 2024 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, one of our favorites places to go in the entire world).
Like the past couple of years, we are spending the second half of our year splitting time between our second home in Medellín, Colombia and extensive time in Europe. This year, we were in Scotland, Portugal, and Spain for almost two months in mid-August to mid-October. Besides the Fringe Festival, we spent time in Portugal’s Lisbon, Sintra, and Porto and in Spain’s Barcelona. We also completed our second Camino to Santiago de Compostela, this year hiking the beautiful Coastal Portuguese Camino along the coasts of Portugal and Spain. The 21-day excursion was shorter in time and distance than our 2023 Francése Camino (500 miles over 39 days oh hiking and 53 days total time), but the experience was truly relaxing and exhilarating.
We are now back in Colombia, where we have many friends and family and a chance to enjoy both the urban life of Medellín and the incredibly peaceful and beautiful countryside where our family shares a finca for weekend stays. As I mentioned above, we will return to the SF Bay Area early January, at which time we will be back in the seats of theatres large and small; and you can once again expect to be getting regular notices of my reviews.
In the meantime, I see from the reviews of my colleagues in the San Francisco Bay Area Critics Circle that we are missing a ton of excellent shows all over the region. Please go to www.sfbatcc.com to discover the latest, top-reviewed shows.
And until January, merry and happy everything.
Eddie
